AXIS MySurgery · Patient Surgical Journey
Your Surgery. Your Journey. Your Companion.
Surgery is more than a procedure. It's a journey.
AXIS MySurgery is being designed to make that journey easier to understand, prepare for and navigate, with the right information and professional support. One companion app follows the patient from the moment surgery is recommended to recovery at home, while medical decisions stay with the patient and their doctors.

One patient's surgical journey
Overview
Problems it addresses
- A hundred questions. A surgery recommendation brings questions about the procedure, the options, the risks and what comes next.
- Information arrives in pieces. Reports, instructions, appointments and paperwork come through many channels, and are easy to lose.
- Families wait without news. On surgery day, the people closest to the patient often don't know what is happening.
- Recovery at home feels alone. Discharge instructions are hard to follow, and it is not always clear when to call the care team.
Who it is for
- Patients facing a recommended surgery
- Families and caregivers
- Hospitals and surgeons interested in patient-journey partnerships
Key capabilities
Request a demo to see these capabilities and discuss what your institution needs.
| Capability | Description |
|---|---|
| Understand your surgery | Organize reports in one place and read plain-language information from the care team about the recommended procedure. |
| Questions for your doctor | Save questions as they come up and take them to the consultation. Decisions stay between the patient and their doctor. |
| Second opinions with your consent | Share a summary of selected reports and questions with a specialist, after reviewing and approving exactly what is shared. |
| Plan and prepare | Follow the care team's preparation checklist one step at a time: tests, consultations, documents and admission. |
| Family and surgery-day updates | Invite a caregiver and choose what they can see. Participating hospitals could share surgery-day milestones with them, never clinical details by default. |
| Recovery guidance and care-team contact | Turn the discharge plan into daily tasks and check-ins. The app does not assess symptoms. It helps the patient reach their care team, or emergency services. |
How AXIS MySurgery works
- Understand: Bring reports together and learn about the recommended surgery in plain language.
- Decide: Prepare questions for the doctor and, if wanted, ask for a second opinion with consent.
- Plan: Keep consultations, tests and documents in one plan.
- Prepare: Work through the care team's checklist and invite a caregiver.
- Surgery: Family receives the milestones the patient has allowed.
- Recover: Follow daily recovery tasks, check in, and reach the care team when something changes.
Applications
- After a surgery recommendation: Understand what was recommended and arrive at the next consultation with clear questions.
- Considering a second opinion: Share selected records with a specialist without starting over, only with the patient's permission.
- Keeping family informed: Let a caregiver follow the plan and surgery-day milestones, as the patient allows.
- Recovering at home: Follow the discharge plan day by day, and know how to reach the care team.
Integration with the AXIS ecosystem
AXIS MySurgery is designed as a patient-first, consent-controlled experience. It is not automatically connected to hospital records. Hospital connections, such as surgery-day milestones or, where a hospital uses AXIS CSM, care-team-approved surgical summaries, are being explored and would depend on participating hospitals, patient consent and validation. It works separately from the professional AXIS SWAN network.
