Architecture built around institutional control.

How an AXIS CSM deployment is laid out: where capture happens, how sessions are coordinated, where recordings are stored, and where consent and access gates sit before anything leaves the hospital.

Deployment architecture

AXIS CSM deployment at a glance

AXIS CSM deployment architectureInside the hospital, compatible OT video sources connect to an interactive CSM OR Console, AXIS Edge or AxisEdge+, running the CSM OR Console application. These connect to the CSM Command Center, which coordinates CSM Live viewers in teaching rooms and remote locations. Recordings go to on-premises storage or, optionally, the AXIS SurgiVault managed cloud. A consent and access gate controls every path out of the hospital. Optional services include AXIS AI and integrations through AXIS Connect, shown with dashed lines.Hospital / on-premisesOT video sourcescompatible devicesCSM OR Console application on:InteractiveConsoleAXIS EdgeAxisEdge+GPUCSM Command Centerrooms, sessions, users, recordingsOn-premises storageAXIS Data servicesCSM Live viewersteaching rooms, auditoriumsConsent and access gate (AXIS Compliance)Optional and remoteRemote CSM Live participantsauthorized mentors and facultyAXIS SurgiVaultmanaged cloud (optional, hybrid)AXIS AI serviceswhere validated and enabledAXIS Connect integrationsHIS / LIMS / RIS, ABDM, where scoped

AXIS CSM components

The role of each component

  • CSM OR Console application

Runs at the operating room on an interactive console, AXIS Edge or AxisEdge+. Captures, records and runs live sessions from compatible sources.

  • CSM Command Center

Coordinates rooms, sessions, users, recordings and storage requests across the institution.

  • CSM Live

The authorized viewing and collaboration experience for teaching rooms, auditoriums and remote participants, built on AXIS LIVE.

Storage patterns

On-premises, cloud and hybrid

  • Hospital / on-premises

Recording, storage and Command Center inside hospital infrastructure. No mandatory cloud upload.

  • Cloud with AXIS SurgiVault

Authorized media stored in the managed cloud for long-term retention and multi-site access.

  • Hybrid

Local recording with selective, policy-controlled transfer to AXIS SurgiVault.
